23 Weeks Pregnant!

At 23 weeks pregnant, I am feeling great! Its interesting what a woman's body goes through in these first months of baby growing. I have compiled a list of what my experience has been so far.

  • (weeks 1-4): Crampy (I never get cramps), stomach feels crazy, super moody - I cried when my sister was upset with me for not being on time to Fathers Day Lunch (totally not me).
  • (weeks 5-8): Super tired- all I want to do is lay down, nauseated all day long - but never puked, lots of food aversion - say goodbye to black bean tacos, vegetables, etc..., RIDICULOUS food cravings: my honey and I are vegan, so naturally what did I crave - Egg Mcmuffins, Dicks Deluxe, Big Macs - wow, have never had to have so much self control!
  • (weeks 9-12): Super tired- still want to lay down all the time, Food aversion: the thought of certain types of food makes me want to vomit- although I never do!, nauseated all day long, No more exercise :( - the placenta attached low and Dr said no-no! (at least until a new ultrasound reveals the placenta has moved). I was craving a Vegan Pot Pie this week and my sister in law baked me one, so nice!
  • (weeks 13-16): Super tired- I've missed quite a few enrichment classes at church on a Sunday morning, No more nausea - Thank God!, Still Food Aversion- no tomatoes, onions, garlic-boo!
  • (weeks 17-20): Getting a lot more energy back! Some Food Aversion, Cannot wait to exercise again! Baby has started kicking at 18 weeks and Richie felt Baby Redbull in that first week!
  • (weeks 21-24): Energized- now I can exercise- the placenta has moved, and boy am I taking advantage of it! Very little food aversion-still not sure about some things: salsa is back on the plate! Baby Redbull is a fierce little kicker- feeling the pokes all the time!

Thoughts I have:
  1. Will this nausea and food aversion ever end?
  2. I think love handles appeared overnight :(
  3. Why the heck does my butt have to get bigger while my stomach does? Is it for evenness?
  4. I have been fighting this body for years and now I can do nothing to keep it from creeping up on me.
  5. It is becoming harder and harder to sneak by things.
  6. Initially the baby kicking was: is this gas, or is it Baby Redbull?
