The Rundown

Our day went as follows:
1. Get off the plane and wander around the airport looking for our baggage. This took a while... the Orlando airport is huge and baggage is all over the place. You find your baggage on different floors depending on what airline you took.

2. Get to the Enterprise shuttle to go get our rental car... Stand in a long line and have the guy try to up sell everything!

3. Got the rental car, but the IPhone is going dead and we do not have a car charger. We need the IPhone for a number of reasons. Goal: Find a Target or something (found Wall Mart after driving around for a while). The only Target we found on the GPS was a Target Marketing. We drove there before we realized it was Target Marketing, there were all sorts of Terra Cotta Soldiers and horses in this business development. I ended up getting some socks out of the deal... worked out nicely.

4. Enter Universal Studios into Google Maps and get there asap. We did 2 parks in 6 hours (not quite enough time for 2 parks, but we got to go on every ride we wanted to).

5. Notice stopping by the hotel and showering, unpacking, etc was not in the rundown anywhere... yes we wore the same clothes for over 24 hours, no shower! But who says to have a good time you have to be showered. :)

My honey, tired but excited!

Almost to the gate!

ET Phone Home

Pre-ride stuff, this was the first ride we went on and just the line was like being in a heavily wooded forest. ET and his father/whoever this guy is, is super creepy.

Dr. Seuss Land

This was a whole area dedicated to Dr. Seuss and all the rides were themed around his children's books. So cute!

Dudly Dooright

We got soaked on this ride. New it was going to happen but I do not think the guys who were sitting ahead of us on the log new how wet they would get. Nevertheless, they made it a very entertaining ride.

Men In Black

Something very cool about Universal Studios is that while you are waiting in line it is almost like you are already on the ride because they have so much going on. These were in the area while we were standing in line (the monitoring aliens on MIB).

Jurasic Park

Roar!

The Hulk Roller Coaster

My words when we finished this roller coaster were "That was a great coaster." Tons of loopy loops combined with speed make a heck of a good roller coaster.

My honey, in anticipation of what was to come.
Me... hulking it up.

The Food at the Bob Marley Cafe

Richie after consuming a satisfying meal of "Nasty Dreds"

As we were researching what vegans can eat while at Universal Studios and Disney World I cam accross the Bob Marley Cafe. My honey and I were starving by the time we got to the cafe as this morning we literally got off the plane, picked up the rental car, ran to pick up some socks and a cell phone charger and then went to Universal Studios. We consumed a healthy breakfast of Oreos and water, and had a lunch of french fries and Powerade (we were saving up our appetites for the night and knew that we wanted to keep our food down while on rides). We first tried to go to the Hard Rock Cafe as we always frequent these joints whenever we vacation a city that has them... not because the food is good but because we like the atmosphere and want a commemorative cup The Hard Rock Cafe had a "gardenburger' that they make that in itself is vegan, but the bun they put it on is not... what the heck?!

At the Bob Marley Cafe we ate "Nasty Dreds with Yucca Fries" which were like empanadas filled with red beans, spinach, onions, sweet potato and black beans. These were so delicious and filling. We were very glad the Hard Rock did not work out, but we still bought our cup.

I can sum up what we ate in one word.. incredible!

Dueling Dragons

My honey and I poised and ready to ride one of the ultimate roller coasters. What is cool about Twin Dragons is that they are off of the same ride/attraction yet on separate tracks that almost compete with each other. We chose to ride the red (fire) coaster first and were blown away as our feet (which dangled from out of the seats) seemed to almost touch the blue (ice) coaster as they crossed each other. Right after we got off the rid coaster there was a chance to get right back on and try out the blue, we did and I liked that one even more.
In the above photo you can see that the red and blue coasters are just coming into loops where the riders in each coaster almost touched the feet of the others as they sped by.
Above is one of the incredible loopy loops.

Orlando Studios

When you go go Universal Studios you have to make sure you get some photos in front of the Universal Studio Globe. We made sure that we got three shots. So take your pick!
