Fragrance Lake

On Saturday my honey and I decided that we would start hiking a new trail every weekend. We chose an easy one to start with that was close by for this last weekend, Fragrance Lake. For the last week I had been thinking that we have not been taking advantage of our nice weather here in Washington state and we needed to get out when we could. Hiking is also a fun way to get some exercise on the lazy weekend. The Fragrance Lake Trail started up in Bellingham and was about a 2 mile hike up with another view point a 1/2 mile away from there. We found that the reason Fragrance Lake must have been given that name was because it really was fragrant-- fragrant with the smell of skunks! Smelly or not, this hike was beautiful and we enjoyed a tasty lunch of a Tempeh Bacon, Tomato and Avocado sandwich at the top.
